House renovations have a tendency to get bigger and more complicated as your initial renovation plans progress. This is exactly what happened to us. What was supposed to be a simple kitchen renovation to transform my single wall kitchen layout into a more spacious and storage-efficient L-shape layout, the renovation grew to include the installation of a new bathroom after we decided to dedicate the use of the existing bathroom to the occupants of the master’s bedroom.
We had to move our existing furniture to make way for the tearing down of two walls. One wall was parallel to the kitchen sink, so we could install windows and the other inside the master’s bedroom to make way for the bathroom door. Before we could tear down any of the two walls we had to empty the kitchen cupboards attached to that wall as well as the cabinet under the counter and the sink. Furniture in the master’s bedroom also had to be removed because they were directly against the wall that had to be torn down.
Since we would not have a usable master’s bedroom, unless we want to sniff all the dust while the renovation is on-going, we decided to move out temporarily so we could enjoy some real peace and cleanliness. Deciding to move out also made us think about moving all the affected furniture and personal belongings out. This is when we started to look into facilities offering storage in South Melbourne.
Storage South Melbourne was the perfect solution to our temporary storage problem that arose out of the house renovations we were undertaking.
